The inspiration for this home near Russell came from the owners, who wanted the concept to be based off The Boatshed, a boutique hotel on Waiheke Island. Trying to fit this look, with their living style, whilst being sympathetic to the colonial character of the seaside town was difficult but in the end came together nicely.
The home inside had to be zoned into separate living spaces, for when the owners had visitors to stay, whilst being open, sunny, and well connected to the site, to have a beach house feel but with secluded spaces to rest in for some quiet time.
The Arcline Team started with pencil sketches of five pavilions linked together, then moved the project into CAD to produce a full 3D walkthrough of the home, whilst giving the clients ample opportunity to fine tune and tweak the look and layout to suit their living style.
The project was a great success and we certainly look forward to helping out clients out again in future if they ever decide to build again.
